The September Edit

You guys it's September!! Still processing that and the fact that my baby boy is somehow in kindergarten. All that aside, here are the highlights of the month for you guys.

We got to photoshoot not one but TWO projects that are near and dear to our hearts. Here's the scoop. The first project we got to shoot was our Park Royal project, which if you have followed us on instagram you've seen it go from a completely gutted home to an absolutely swoon worthy space. If you'd like a little more context on this project, or what it looked like when we were hired, click here, as it was featured as our #InTheWorks project back in April. Here are a few sneak peeks (shot on my iPhone!) of the shoot, which was styled and shot to perfection by the most talented England based artists Lauren Olivia Design and Sarah Button Photography. How did this project get shot by my new best friends from the Cotswolds?! :) Instagram. We connected there (so thankful) and they let me know they liked my aesthetic and would love to collaborate / work together if we had any projects we wanted to shoot. The rest is history! :) Okay here are a few iPhone snaps of the shoot, I can't wait to share the profesh images that Sarah sends over soon!!!

After our Park Royal photoshoot here in Huntington Beach, CA, Lauren and Sarah traveled up the beautiful Californian coast to San Francisco where they styled and shot our beloved San Francisco project. Located on Great Highway - so across the street from the ocean - this is a project that we worked on and completed years ago but haven't got to shoot it until now. It was a full kitchen / dining / living room renovation, and we also renovated 2 bathrooms for our clients. Here are some sneak peeks that Lauren sent me as I was unable to attend the shoot. I'm over the freakin moon about the way they styled it and am dying to see these profesh images and will of course share them with you guys when I can.

Another highlight of this month was that we got to see our Lake Street Project in person - framed - for the first time!! This is a project we've been working on for upwards of a year, (see some background on it and our design plans here) but for many months have been waiting for the foundation + framing to complete. Well, its finally framed!! so we planned a site visit with our clients and the builder and his trades, where we talked through all the nitty gritty details (hvac locations, millwork details etc etc etc). Here's a few images I took while on site - aren't all these arches just, so stunning?

And last but not least, and maybe the HIGHLIGHT of the month is that I got invited to attend the VIP Launch Party for Studio Mcgee x Kohler up in Los Angeles. It was the dreamiest (intimate!) dinner setting at the historic Lombardi House. I went with an incredible group of talented designers from Orange County, and we had the best time! It was incredible to see and hear more about Shea's collaboration with Kohler, and mingle with so many talented designers in our industry. I had met Shea in person last year at Design Camp where she was a speaker, but it was so fun seeing her again and catching up. Fun fact our youngest daughters were born 2 days apart (!) so we got to talk about the craziness of having two-year-olds at home (hint hint it's a circus). She is wonderful, warm, so genuine, and so inspiring. Grateful that she invited me to her special event, and my heart was so full afterward. It was a night I'll never forget!

And that concludes the September Edit, my friends. Thank you, as always for being here. It means the world. TALK TO YOU SOON.
